indiegogo campaign update written for BYPASSED 2020

FINAL STEPS! The feature cut is ready to premiere.

It's the moment we've been working toward for years: the feature cut of BYPASSED is complete.

We had planned to premiere the film on April 11 with a huge bash at Midway Arts, but Covid has made it necessary to restrategize and innovate. With no signs of a big indoor gathering being able to happen soon, we have decided to focus on pop-up outdoor premiere screenings in Coatesville and beyond, with all social distance and safety measures in place.

“I watched the whole thing last night. Twice. Stunning to see it come together. It comes across as a powerful, diverse film of citizens who struggle with the downfalls yet reap the rewards of a small neighborhood. It reminds me how powerful a place Coatesville was and can be, such magic happening behind closed rowhome doors.

We drive by so much of that magic and are so quick to convict communities at first glance. The gardeners, the artists, the poets, the pastors, the mothers who mother more than their own.”  BYPASSED featured poet Aadil Malik on the feature film.

We are seeking an individual or entity to sponsor this final phase of premiere activities, in  exchange for Executive Producer credit. Your name will be attached to one of the most exciting media projects to hit Coatesville in our lifetime, while helping us to show this work far and wide.

The sponsorship will cover:

1- portable outdoor screening supplies including a projector and screen, sound system, and sanitation supplies

2- final payment for our assistant editor, CJ Witherspoon, who created the vignettes series with us

3- permits, time and materials for all upcoming screening events

If you're interested in being our exclusive community sponsor, please email thecoatesvilleproject@gmail.com to discuss the investment requirements. Please help us amplify this need by sharing with anyone you know who may be in a position to help!

Because our perks for the Indiegogo campaign were already....a little late.... we are waiting to ship them until we finalize this premiere schedule, so we can include information for you inside the mailer. Do not fear: we haven't forgotten these goodies!

“I feel so full right now!! I’m not crying you’re crying! Sarah I LOVE IT!!” - our Asst Editor CJ Witherspoon after seeing the final feature cut for the first time

“It’s stunning. And I believe very much that over the years this piece will just grow in value. You may never get to see how valuable it is.❤️ WELL DONE! And I loved the film student (Ronjae Jones). Fell in love with him.” - early screener (and trailer star) Amanda Hershey
